Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) Industry Funded Scholarships
WASM offers a selection of scholarships and bursaries for undergraduate students. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic ability and the motivation of students to pursue a mining related career. School leavers who expect a high TER (>95) or its equivalent are eligible to apply providing they wish to enrol in any WASM's Bachelor of Engineering courses (including double degrees).
A limited number of bursaries may be available to students who do not hold a scholarship and can show financial need. Bursaries range from $1000-$5000 for one year.
These awards place no restriction on graduates in their ultimate choice of employment. Awards offered by mining companies may include vacation employment. Other students may seek vacation employment through direct contact with mining companies, the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA or the Minerals Tertiary Education Council.
