Brodie Hall Foundation

The Brodie-Hall Foundation was established in 2005 to underpin the continuing success of the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) through the enhancement of excellence in teaching and research. Funding from the Brodie-Hall Foundation is used to provide resources and facilities that would not otherwise be available to WASM through conventional funding channels. It provides the means for WASM to make strategic seed-funding investments in new areas of research or teaching and supplements or enhances key infrastructure at WASM.

A Board of Trustees governs the Brodie-Hall Foundation. This Board comprises the Patron of the Western Australian School of Mines, Mr Robert Champion de Crespigny AC (Chair), the Chair of the WASM Advisory Board (Mr John Dow), the President of the WASM Graduates Association (Mr Tony James), the University Secretary (Ms Gem Cheong) and the Director of WASM. The Finance & Planning Officer of WASM is the Executive Officer of the Brodie-Hall Foundation.

Membership of the WASM Foundation is via donation. Grades of membership for individuals are as follows:

Life Benefactor over $100,000 (one off)
Life Fellow $20,000 (one off)
Fellow $2,000 per year
Member $1,000 per year
Contributor $500 per year

Grades of membership for corporate entities or organisations are as follows:

Corporate Life Benefactor over $1,000,000 (one off)
Principal corporate sponsor $50,000 per year
Senior corporate sponsor $20,000 per year
Corporate sponsor $5,000 per year
Corporate contributor $2,000 per year

A current list of members (both individual and corporate) is maintained and, with the relevant approval, is widely publicised from time to time both within and outside Curtin University of Technology. Lesser donations are, of course, very welcome but will not be recognised with formal membership of the Foundation.
